ABOUT ME

When I moved to the Bay Area, I wasn’t sure what was ahead for me. In time I came to appreciate the pervasive optimism and inventiveness you find here in Silicon Valley. I built a rewarding career in communications with some inspiring people and remarkable organizations.

  • Hewlett-Packard: as Executive Communications Manager

  • Cisco Systems: as Communications Partner & Consultant

  • Brocade Communications: as Communications Partner & Consultant

  • Grass Valley, a Belden Brand: as Global Communications Manager

Prior to this, I spent eight years in Rochester, New York. A dynamic graduate program in imaging arts drew me to the Rochester Institute of Technology. For my thesis exhibition, I created a series of mixed-media sculpture to address issues and share insights from my time in Morocco as a Peace Corps volunteer. The exhibition was called Conscious Conscience: Cross-Cultural Art.

In Rochester, I was part of a culturally rich community focused on image making and the history of photography (think Kodak, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb). I joined the talented staff at George Eastman House, International Museum of Photography & Film. As exhibitions manager, I led a creative team that supported the preservation, interpretation and presentation of world-class photographic exhibitions for appreciative audiences around the world.

Later, I drove from New York to California seeking new adventures and opportunities. I brought with me a growing appreciation for art and a passion to create. On weekends, I continued creative pursuits from my garage studio. I’ve produced two exhibitions (Hip on Pop and My Art Nostalgic) and created three art photo books (Reflective Vision/Together/Fifty-Nine) as ways to drive focus and creative resolution while also sharing my art with friends, colleagues and former strangers.

I want to increase exposure and engagement with audiences. If you would like to learn more about, participate in, and/or support these efforts, please email me.

Thank you,

ME MANIFESTO

I respect and admire people who creatively pursue the realization of original work. Originality pushes boundaries, challenges expectations, enlightens and inspires.

As a practicing artist, I find creating something unique to be immensely satisfying. Experience has taught me that art-making requires discipline, sacrifice, persistence, skills and a solid belief in oneself. It’s not an easy path, but it’s one worth pursuing.

  • I believe in the power of art to inspire.

  • I believe in fostering purpose and supporting a cause.

  • I believe in thinking creatively and working collaboratively.

  • I believe in sharing, mentoring and lifelong learning.

  • I believe in the digital revolution and embracing novel ways of creating.
