Moroccan Acquaintances 1984-87
Morocco is an incredible country with a rich history, interesting and varied people, and a wealth of culture and places to explore. I lived in the capital, Rabat, on the west coast south of Tangiers and north of Casablanca. The more I learned about Morocco and its people the more it seemed the cultural gap between us widened. Moving about the country, I had reservations about introducing a camera into the mix. In time, with increasing familiarity and improving language skills, I won the trust of some accepting, and exceptional, individuals. My memories may be fading but these prints document several favorite encounters in this land known for contrasts and contradictions.
